Larry G. Wilson Photographic Artist

Artist Statement

Looking past the obvious to expose the intimate and unexpected details of natural and man-made objects, that we so often overlook, is the central focus of my work. The fascinating details of light, shadow, and texture create what I call “Hidden Landscapes”.

Often, the challenges of my hidden landscapes are to slow down and look beyond the distractions to capture the unique and often ephemeral juxtaposition of light, shadow, and texture; then observe and discover unseen beauty.

After nearly 40 years behind the camera, I have never lost the excitement of discovering these hidden treasures, the excitement is as fresh to me now as it was the day I took my first photograph.

Ultimately, my goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, while discovering beauty in unusual places.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
